Pluck the band of stars
from the night sky,
bind it around your body, and turn
night into day.

Go to the harbor and take a rope.
Knot it around your body and think
about what this form might represent.
Is it a jacket?

Can I create clothing without thinking of attire from the start? Experiments and unconventional thinking are my passion and what drives me in fashion. The tryst of two concepts foreign to fashion – sailors knots and light – led to extensive research about form, construction, and accessories. Six knots have been turned into six outfits, and the light into accessories, which unifies the collection under one name.

The basis of this Overall originates in the japanese Hakama. The important aspects were the wide cut of the legs, the folding and the small plate in on the back, which stabilises the lower back. This small detail results in an upright stand and walk.

An upright posture is central for how someone feels and how a human is perceived by others. If you stand upright you feel more self-concious, calmer and stronger. In combination with the wide cut of the leg and the obpen back, the carrier of this dress not only radiateselegance and grace, but also an openness and serenity.

I do not only like to sketch twoodimensional; to get a firm grasp of the nature of something, I also like to sketch threedimensional. It is direct, fast and intuitive. This leads to sketches and sketches lead to the products. With this method I usually know early wheather something is realistic, or not, and this is an important feature when the aim is to have a functional product.

Some Samples of my work. Sketches, three dimensional sketches and prototypes, as well as photo works and Experiments. Just to get a feel of how I like to work. At the end of the gallery there is a group photo with Federal Councellor Doris Leuthard, then head of UVEK. This was for an idea competition called "morgen? Die Schweiz" (tomorrow? Switzerland), which was about developing a creative picture of how we believe Switerland will or should be in 2035. Our product turned out to be the double-face dress, FC Leuthard is wearing on the picture. One Side of the dress consists of a chomographic fabric, derived from a picture of Niklaus von Flüh. This is a symbolic representation of a traditional, democratic and neutral Switzerland. The other Side is covered with a web-like lace, symbolising a connected and nationally and internationally conjoined Swiss Confoederation. Link to the UVEK page on the Link "Designer".
